MADISON –– A new poll released today by Navigator Research shows that the majority of voters believe that Republicans in Congress work on behalf of big corporations and the wealthy. The new poll also showed that voters believe that President Joe Biden— by an 18-point margin— stands up for the middle class and working people.

Every single Republican member of Congress voted against the American Rescue Plan (ARP), and voters noticed. A vote against the ARP was a vote against providing relief to Wisconsinites impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including support for Wisconsin families, schools, students, and small businesses. Once again, Wisconsin Republicans proved they care more about petty politics than the people of Wisconsin.

“It should come as no surprise that Wisconsin voters have lost trust in Republicans in Congress, given the fact Ron Johnson and the entire Wisconsin Republican Congressional delegation voted against $1,400 relief checks for Wisconsinites impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, all while supporting a tax bill that gave massive tax cuts to big corporations and the wealthiest Americans. With President Biden in the White House, Wisconsin Democrats like Senator Tammy Baldwin, Rep. Pocan, Rep. Kind, and Rep. Moore will continue fighting for working families and to build an economy that works for everyone,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Julia Hamelburg.
