MADISON - The rightwing in Wisconsin, and much of the country, is being underwritten by a powerful couple, Richard and Elizabeth Uihlein. He’s an heir to the Schlitz fortune, and they both own the Uline company in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. Here’s our profile of them:

With the primary just a few days away, we discovered an interesting tidbit: The leading Republican candidate for Secretary of State, Amy Loudenbeck, has raised a lot more money than incumbent Doug La Follette and than his challenger, Alexia Sabor. Here’s what we found:

GOP Secy of State Candidate Has Eight Times as Much $$ as Doug La Follette

We also found that in the races for State Assembly and State Senate, more fundraising records are likely to be broken:

Legislative Candidates Continue Fundraising at Record Clip

And if you want to know about all the outside spending, here’s the current list of the independent expenditure groups by spending totals:

It’s sometimes hard to figure out what each PAC stands for because they often have sappy names. My favorite this time around is the Badger Values PAC. It’s not located here in the Badger State, though. Its mailbox is in Houston, TX, and its bank is in Virginia. Oh, by the way, it’s spending in behalf of Adam Jarchow for Attorney General.

You can find more about all these PACs here:
