GREEN BAY, WI - The City of Green Bay is partnering with shared electric scooter company, Bird Rides, to bring e-scooters to the City, launching this week. The scooters are available through a mobile phone application and riders pay to use the scooter per minute, at no cost to the City.

eric-genrich-wbayMayor Eric Genrich said “we are happy to welcome Bird scooters to the City of Green Bay. I know they will be a great new mobility option for our community and bridging the gap between public transportation and riders’ final destinations. Communities are strongest when they are well-connected with a variety of modes of transportation, and I’m excited to add Bird scooters to the list here in Green Bay.”

Bird Rides offers scooters to residents and visitors to help reduce carbon emissions as well as traffic congestion on our roadways. The scooters also provide a safe and fun way to get around our city and offer residents without automobiles another transportation option.

The scooters can be used on roads and in bike lanes and have a maximum speed of 15mph. Scooters must be parked out of the way of pedestrians and never blocking driveways or building access. Riders are required to be 18-years-old and above to access the scooters. Riders are also encouraged to wear a helmet on every ride and required to obey all standard rules of the road. Scooters should be used like a bike would, yielding right-of-way accordingly.

Bird offers the following programs that are available for all who qualify:
