WASHINGTON, D.C. - House Democrats on Monday released the first transcripts from their closed-door hearings.
The transcripts are the first full public accounting of testimony from former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and former top aide to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Michael McKinley. They largely focused on the sequence of events that led to the recalling of Yovanovitch back to the United States.
The U.S. ambassador was seen as insufficiently loyal to Trump, and was the subject of a campaign by the White House and its allies to undermine her.

Gov. Evers Signs Senate Bill 433 at the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial and Education Center in Kewaskum.
KEWASKUM — Gov. Tony Evers today signed Senate Bill 433, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 20, into law. This bill designates a portion of State Trunk Highway 28 as the “Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway” and directs the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to erect and maintain signage for the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway and the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial and Education Center in the village of Kewaskum.
“These memorials will serve as an important reminder to the people of Wisconsin of the lives lost, the heroes who ran towards danger without second thought, and our nation's grit and resilience in a time of tragedy,” said Gov. Evers. “It was the tireless work of the people of Kewaskum that made this memorial possible, and it is an honor to be with them today to sign this bill into law.”
The Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial and Education Center is a community project in the village of Kewaskum lead by a group known as Kewaskum Remembers 9/11, including Gordon and Kathy Haberman who lost their daughter Andrea in the 9/11 attacks. The memorial was built to honor the heroes who responded in the nation's time of need and to pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 lives lost.
Senate Bill 433, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 20:
- Designates a portion of STH 28, starting at the I-41 and STH 28 interchange in Dodge County to the STH 144 intersection in Washington County as the "Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway";
- Requires the Department of Transportation to erect and maintain signage for the highway and the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorails and Education Center in the village of Kewaskum; and
- Requires the Department of Transportation to identify the location of the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway and the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial and Education Center on state highway service maps and folded highway maps.
