jeff-smith-campaignsMichele Magadance Skinner Trails Sen. Smith By 7% While Remaining Unpopular In The District.

MADISON, WI – A new poll highlighted in Monday’s WisPolitics PM Update shows Senator Jeff Smith with a commanding lead in the race for the 31st Senate district. With just under 100 days until election day, Senator Smith has a 7-point lead on his opponent in a head-to-head matchup while remaining popular in the district. Michele Magadance Skinner, Sen. Smith’s Republican opponent, remains far less popular following her failed run for State Assembly in 2024.

SSDC Communications Director Will Karcz on Wisconsin’s 31st Senate District:

“It comes as no surprise that Senator Smith, who has a long track of winning Republican-won districts, is in the driver’s seat in his new Democratic-leaning district. The Wisconsin Senate remains the most flippable chamber in the country, and the data bears that out.”

SD-31 Poll By the Numbers:

  • Senator Smith leads Michele Magadance Skinner by 7%.

  • Senator Smith has a +9 job approval rating in his district.

  • Michele Magadance Skinner has a -6 favorability rating.

  • President Trump has a -20 favorability rating in the district.

  • Governor Evers has a +7 favorability rating in the district.
