MADISON, Wis. – Former Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton has endorsed Judge Lyndsey Brunette for Wisconsin Supreme Court, citing Brunette’s commitment to protecting fundamental rights and freedoms and her experience on the bench.

barbara-lawton“Supreme Court justices provide the essential backstop to protect our fundamental rights, including personal healthcare rights, all of which feel vulnerable today. Judge Lyndsey Brunette steps forward now, bringing an impressive record on the bench that demonstrates her fair and impartial approach to every one of the thousands of cases that have come before her,” said former Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton. “We need her leadership and wisdom and scholarly approach to the law, as well as her perspective coming from a rural area in northern Wisconsin. I wholeheartedly support Judge Brunette’s candidacy for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

Judge Lyndsey Brunette announced her candidacy for the April 2027 state Supreme Court race last week. Wisconsinites have rallied around her announcement and the opportunity to reinforce a pro-freedom, pro-democracy majority on the Court. Brunette’s announcement video has been viewed over 250,000 times already, making it the most viral Wisconsin Supreme Court announcement in modern history.

Brunette has been a Clark County Circuit Court judge since 2018. Before joining the bench, she was first elected as a Democrat to serve as Clark County district attorney in 2012, becoming the first woman to hold that position.
