MADISON, Wis. — In a complete betrayal of the Afghan people he served alongside, Derrick Van Orden once again refuses to stand up to Trump’s reckless international agenda by remaining silent as the Trump administration forces Van Orden’s Afghan allies to choose between being sent to the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is currently experiencing major humanitarian crises, or face certain death back in Afghanistan.

derrick-van-orden“Derrick Van Orden once said he is alive because of our Afghan allies, and yet he is refusing to stand up to Trump as he is working to kick out the same people who helped us end the war and get out before Trump plunged us back into another Middle-East conflict,” said Veteran and WisDems Caucus Chair, Gary Hawley. “Constituents of the third congressional district see that Derrick Van Orden has turned into just another D.C. congressman who has abandoned veterans and our allies in favor of a dangerous war that is costing American lives abroad and further hurting people’s wallets here at home."
