maria-lazarThreatens Wisconsin’s Constitutional Protections

MADISON, Wis. — Maria Lazar’s statements on the campaign trail paint a clear picture for Wisconsin voters: She will not protect their constitutional right to vote on the Supreme Court bench.

In a recent interview with The Daily Cardinal, Lazar said she “respected” the 2020 Wisconsin Supreme Court’s conservative majority’s ruling in favor of the same rigged maps she defended as Scott Walker’s lawyer.

As a judge, Lazar has already proven she is willing to embrace a far-right anti-democracy agenda. She previously ruled in favor of extremists trying to overturn the 2020 election, voting to release Wisconsinites’ personal voting information. Now, six years later, Lazar refuses to say whether the Court made the right decision by stopping Trump's attempt to overturn the 2020 election in Wisconsin.

“Except for MAGA extremists like Maria Lazar, Wisconsinites of all political stripes believe that, no matter who you vote for, you have a constitutional right to have your vote counted and your voice heard, " said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman. “Maria Lazar continues to court the same anti-democracy MAGA henchmen that tried to throw out Wisconsinites votes in 2020, showing Wisconsinites exactly who she is: A far-right politician who will do the bidding of her extremist buddies.”

“Maria Lazar will do whatever she can to take away Wisconsinites' freedoms if she makes it to the Supreme Court, that’s why we’re doing everything we can to defeat her on April 7th,” Shulman concluded.
