sos-2020MADISON, WI — Tonight, Governor Tony Evers reviewed his time in office, including his success in cutting taxes by over $2 billion a year, delivering job training to 127,000 Wisconsinites, and paying down $3 billion in state debt.

“I appreciate the governor’s accomplishments, but we can still do more to help regular people struggling with the cost of living,” said Senator Jamie Wall.

“We all want to lower costs, support our school kids, and protect our communities.  The only thing stopping us from doing that work is ourselves. It’s a shame we’re about to adjourn nine months before the next election.”

jamie-wall-ofcSenator Wall highlighted key areas where further work is needed:

  • Targeted property tax relief for homeowners along with better and more predictable funding for our schools;
  • Regulatory reforms and smart incentives to help build more homes and bring down the cost of housing; and
  • Using the state’s purchasing power to improve the quality and reduce the cost of health care.

“I’ll continue to work on pragmatic, fiscally-responsible ideas that help people in Brown County afford their dreams.”
