green_bay_citydeckMADISON, Wis. — Yesterday, Governor Evers delivered his biennial budget address, highlighting Wisconsinites’ priorities for the upcoming 2025-2027 budget. Rep. Ryan Spaude (D-Ashwaubenon) released this response following the Governor’s address.

“The message I’ve heard from Wisconsinites in my community and across our state this past year has been clear: we need to make living, learning, and raising a family in our state more affordable. This evening’s address has shown that Governor Evers is listening. Prioritizing budget initiatives that will lower the cost of childcare, reduce prescription drug expenses, and invest in education is a direct response to what we’ve been hearing.

ryan-spaude“I am particularly excited about the investments in the Green Bay area that I worked to ensure were included in his 2025-2027 biennial budget. There is a lot for us to be excited about in Green Bay as we look at the year ahead. With the NFL Draft coming to town, public safety remains one of my top priorities. State reimbursement to help cover these costs will ensure that everyone can enjoy themselves securely and is a critical part of this budget for our community.

“I am extremely proud of the work that folks have put into new and exciting projects like the Green Bay Public Market. This project will have an incredible economic impact on our community that will more than repay the investment that Governor Evers has proposed. Governor Evers has proven to be a strong partner for Green Bay and Ashwaubenon, and I will fight hard to make these investments a reality.

“I’m ready to get to work to bring funding for these local projects over the finish line and deliver the relief working people in our state deserve.”
