evers-gb-visit-2023MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today delivered his weekly radio address highlighting that last week he completed his annual visit to each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties in 2024, completing his fifth annual 72-county tour since taking office in 2019. Gov. Evers has visited all 72 Wisconsin counties in a year at least five times since becoming governor, including in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and now 2024, as well as several counties in 2020 before the pandemic prevented travel for most of the year. A thorough-but-still-not-exhaustive list of brief highlights from some of Gov. Evers’ stops in each county is available here.

Hey there, Wisconsin! Governor Tony Evers here.

tony-eversThe best and most important part of my job as governor is meeting with Wisconsinites to hear about the issues that matter most to them and find solutions to the challenges we face.

An important part of that work is getting out of the Capitol to meet people where they are at every corner of our state—at their homes and businesses, schools and campuses, farms, hospitals, community gatherings, and so much more.

That’s why I’ve made it my goal to visit all 72 counties every year as governor, and I am proud that this year, we have wrapped up my fifth 72-county tour since taking office.

I’ve had the opportunity to see good work happening all across the state.

From a groundbreaking for new affordable housing in the city of Viroqua to fixing potholes in Green Bay to efforts to close the digital divide and expand access to high-speed internet in River Falls.

I’ve met with veterans and veterans service organizations like those in Eau Claire and Neenah who are using therapy horses to help veterans heal from PTSD.

I’ve talked with employers in Sheboygan, Tomahawk, and Chippewa Falls about our efforts to attract, train, and retain workers in our state and build the workforce needed to support a 21st-century economy.

I’ve toured healthcare systems and talked with healthcare providers about how we’re going to help ensure folks and families across our state have access to the affordable, high-quality healthcare they deserve.

I’ve visited our schools and classrooms to hear from students and educators about what they’re working on and excited about at school.

Heck, I even paddled a dugout canoe with Ho-Chunk Nation, made a pizza at a pizza farm in Athens, and visited the World’s Largest Talking Cow, Chatty Belle, in Neillsville!

And believe me, ate plenty of ice cream cones along the way.

Folks, Wisconsin will never cease to amaze me, and it’s a privilege to be your governor and to travel the state to hear your stories.

So, thank you for welcoming me into your homes, businesses, and communities this year, and let’s do it again in 2025!

Take care, folks.
