His Project 2025 plans for a second term would give him unprecedented, unchecked power to do virtually whatever he wants, including rule as a dictator on “day one” and “terminate the Constitution.” More than 700 national security leaders and former military officials, some of whom joined Mayor Rhodes-Conway in Madison today, recently signed a letter putting country over party as part of the National Security Leaders for America coalition endorsing the Harris-Walz campaign and declaring Donald Trump “unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.” It comes as the people who know Trump best, including his former senior staff, have warned he is too unhinged and dangerous to step foot in the Oval Office again. Last week in Ripon, the birthplace of the Republican Party, the Vice President held a rally with former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney to show that this campaign has a home for everyone, no matter their political affiliation. Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and members of National Security Leaders for America at the press conference in Madison “[Donald Trump] thinks that the folks who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to our country are suckers and losers. And that is demeaning not just to them and their family members and their service, but to all of us,” said Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway. “But we know that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are leaders who will stand up for our Constitution and will govern for all Americans, not just some.” “Too many service members, those same service members that Donald Trump thinks are chumps, too many of them have died defending our Constitution for us to throw it away. Now we're not going to let Donald Trump throw it away, just so he can have a little bit more power. That is wrong, and it is un-American,” said Retired Major General and former U.S. Representative (IL-12), William Enyart. “Thankfully, Americans have another choice, and that choice is Vice President Kamala Harris.” “Donald Trump will undermine NATO and possibly abandon Poland, the Baltic States and the rest of Eastern Europe. Kamala Harris will strengthen NATO,” said former Ambassador Peter Galbraith. “And I know that this is a choice that is dear to the heart of many Wisconsin voters whose families originate in Eastern Europe and who maintain ties to that part of the world.” “The good news is there is a certifying official involved here, and that official is the voters of the United States. As they go to the polls in November, I ask all of them and all of you to give thought to what qualifies a person to be president of the United States and what disqualifies a person to be president of the United States,” said retired Colonel Tom Davis. “The good news is the other name on the ballot is Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris is the inverse of Donald Trump. She is steady, she is measured, she is experienced, she is calm. She has a wonderful record at all levels of government.” “Kamala Harris and Joe Biden stand strong in support of the Ukrainian people's right to defend themselves, but Donald Trump would give up Ukraine and he'd leave NATO because that's what Putin wants,” said former Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs Sue Fulton. “Let me be very, very clear, our national security depends on NATO and our allies, and it depends on standing with the free democratic countries around the world.” |
