MILWAUKEE, WI – To kick of the first day of early voting, local community and voting rights groups – including the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, Souls to the Polls, Power to the Polls, SEIU Wisconsin, Wisconsin Working Families Party, the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, EXPO Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Interfaith Voter Engagement Campaign, and the Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort Educational Fund – will host a press conference and march/caravan to the polls to “Vote No” on the two constitutional amendments on the August 13th statewide ballot. Community leaders and voters will speak on the importance of voting “no” to maintain checks and balances in our state legislature, and to protect the funding of vital programs that are likely to be at risk – such as housing, education, and child care programs – should the amendments pass. WHERE: Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) Downtown Campus (700 W State St, Milwaukee, WI 53233); march to Zeidler Municipal Building (841 N Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202). The rest of the Day of Action will take place at MATC. WHO:
