MADISON – Today, a Dane County Judge ruled that Wisconsin’s 1849 abortion ban doesn’t apply to consensual medical abortions. Senate Democratic Leader Melissa Agard (D-Madison) released the following statement:

“I am encouraged by the positive developments in Wisconsin’s justice system as we work to overturn our state’s dangerous abortion ban. The judge’s ruling signals good news for this case as it moves forward.

“I eagerly await the day when Wisconsinites have full access to the comprehensive reproductive care that is best for them.”
