MADISON, Wis. — Last January, after it was revealed that George Santos was a serial liar who falsified business and campaign finance reports, Congressman Mike Gallagher dismissed Santos’ behavior, but promised if “actual illegal behavior” was found, “then we can have a separate discussion.”

Yesterday, George Santos was charged with seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of lying to Congress on financial forms.

“Now that George Santos has been charged on a thirteen count federal indictment, it’s time for Mike Gallagher to step up as a member of House GOP leadership and vote to expel him from Congress,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.
