MADISON – Today, the State Senate will meet to take action on a miniscule number of bills. Despite the legislative session beginning nearly five months ago, the State Senate has convened just a handful of times. Senate Democratic Leader Melissa Agard (D-Madison), released the following statement:

“Quite frankly, the calendar put forth by Republican leadership and this do-nothing agenda is an insult to the people of Wisconsin. Time and time again, Wisconsinites have vocalized their support for strong public schools, clean drinking water, access to quality child care, a fair tax structure, safe communities – free from gun violence, affordable health care and prescription drugs, and so much more.

“The resounding result of the state’s Supreme Court race was a referendum on Republican governance over the last decade and they are running scared. The Wisconsin GOP is choosing to do nothing rather than putting forth their typically offensive and unwelcomed legislation - both are political malpractice

“Legislative Democrats will continue working for Wisconsin and championing common-sense policies the majority of voters support.”
