hochunknation-membersCommunity dinner and discussion on how the Wisconsin Supreme Court impacts tribal nations to be held in Milwaukee Wednesday, March 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. This is a nonpartisan event.

MILWAUKEE, WI – Wisconsin Native Vote, the Native American Rights Fund (NARF), and the Ho-Chunk Nation will host a dinner and presentation for tribal members to discuss how the upcoming Wisconsin Supreme Court election impacts Native communities.

Tribal judges and Native leaders will speak to participants about the role of the Supreme Court, challenges Native voters face, and the importance of voting in the April 4 spring election. Milwaukee is home to the largest concentration of Native people in the state, with a diverse population from tribes around Wisconsin and the country.

Speakers include Allison Neswood (Diné), NARF Staff Attorney, tribal judges (more details to come), and Anne Egan-Waukau (Menominee), Urban Native Vote Organizer as the emcee. All speakers will be available for interviews.

What: Community dinner and discussion on how the Wisconsin Supreme Court impacts tribal nations.

When: Wednesday, March 1, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Where: Milwaukee Ho-Chunk Office, 3501 S Howell Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207

A second event will be held at the Red Cliff Legendary Waters Casino on March 7 at 5 p.m. This event will be hosted by Wisconsin Native Vote, NARF, and the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa to engage the Red Cliff, Bad River, and other northern tribal communities.

This is a nonpartisan event and none of the involved organizations or speakers support or oppose candidates. Wisconsin Native Vote is a program of Wisconsin Conservation Voices.
