Ad Runs Statewide, Highlights Russ’s Comprehensive Plan to Destroy Terrorist Groups

MIDDLETON, WI - Russ for Wisconsin launched a new TV ad today titled “Better Way.” The 30-second ad runs statewide and highlights Russ’s comprehensive plan to defeat ISIS, Al-Qaeda and terrorist groups around the globe.

In the ad, Vietnam War Veteran Dan Krehbiel reviews Russ’s comprehensive plan to defeat ISIS and other terrorist groups while keeping Americans safe. The plan, which Russ first detailed last year, focuses on four key areas:

· Going after terrorists’ oil money and arms supplies
· Using targeted military force
· Better human intelligence
· Working with Middle Eastern states to take on terrorists in the region

Russ’s comprehensive strategy would destroy ISIS and other terrorist groups without sending tens of thousands of American troops into harm’s way. Senator Johnson, on the other hand, has recklessly suggested another US-led invasion of Syria and Iraq that would involve 25,000 American soldiers.

Sen. Ron Johnson has been content to rely upon a handful of billionaires to run ads in support of his bid through super PACs and dark money groups. In June of last year, Russ offered the Badger Pledge to Sen. Johnson – an effort to limit outside spending in this campaign. But this month the Koch brothers' dark money arm, Americans for Prosperity, launched a $1.1 million TV ad buy for Sen. Johnson while another billionaire-funded super PAC backing Johnson lobs attack ads on his behalf.

Yesterday, two of the super PACs solely dedicated to Johnson’s reelection bid announced that they had raised $1.1 million in outside funding - $750,000 of which came from just two billionaire donors.
