amy-coney-barrett-confirmationWASHINGTON - The following is a statement from Biden for President National Advisory Board member Senator Patty Murray on the three-year anniversary of Donald Trump’s nominee Amy Coney Barrett being sworn into the Supreme Court of the United States:

“You can draw a straight line from Trump’s nominee Justice Amy Coney Barrett joining the Supreme Court three years ago to the overturning of Roe v. Wade and cruel abortion bans in 21 states across the country. Just ask Donald Trump: he brags that he’s responsible for getting Roe overturned.

"The fallout for women across the country has been devastating: Millions of women across the country have had their fundamental right to make their own health care decisions ripped away. States have passed bans that apply before women even know they are pregnant, criminalize doctors, and force women to stay pregnant even if they have been raped. If Donald Trump or one of the other extreme MAGA Republican candidates win the presidency, they will fight to pass a national abortion ban. New House Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson says doctors who provide women with reproductive care should be 'imprisoned at hard labor.'

“Abortion is on the ballot next November. We need to send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris back to the White House for four more years with a pro-choice majority in Congress.”
