GREEN BAY - Russ Feingold joined community leaders, elected officials, union leaders, and business owners in Green Bay on Tuesday to discuss Wisconsinites’ infrastructure concerns.

Participants included Brown County Supervisor and former Chair of the Brown County Republican Party Mark Becker, State Senator Dave Hansen, State Representative Eric Genrich, IUOE Treasurer Shane Griesbach, Relyco, Inc. President Bradley Ottam, Green Bay Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Representative Jayme Sellen, and Live54218 Executive Director Jennifer Van Den Elzen.

“They discussed possible solutions to pressing problems like infrastructure and job creation.”

Traveling around Wisconsin, Russ consistently hears from Wisconsinites who are fed up with the state’s outdated infrastructure. Crumbling roads and bridges are literal obstacles to the success of Wisconsin’s students and small businesses, making it too difficult -- and sometimes dangerous -- to transport products and people to their destinations, and standing in the way of billions of dollars in revenue.

That’s why Russ introduced the Badger Innovation Plan, designed to jumpstart the state’s transportation infrastructure through a combination of state and federal investments. Russ knows we need a 21st century infrastructure for Wisconsin businesses to be competitive and our students to succeed.

From the Green Bay Press-Gazette:

“Feingold met in Green Bay with community leaders, local and state elected officials, union leaders and business owners. He said energizing the economy begins with coordinated, long-term investment in infrastructure that is supported with job training programs for workers.

Feingold and Brown County Supervisor Mark Becker pulled together a group of executives and community leaders to talk about how, if elected, Feingold could help address infrastructure needs such as De Pere's southern bridge proposal, bicycle lanes and extending broadband internet service into rural areas.”

WHBY: Johnson, Feingold set end of campaign platforms

“We could be hearing a lot about improving the nation's economy and infrastructure, during the last month of the campaign for U.S. Senate.

During a campaign stop at the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, Democratic challenger Russ Feingold said roads and ports need more attention. He says broadband Internet access is also an issue.”
