ron-johnsonMADISON - In an editorial in Wednesday's Capital Times, the paper delivers some cold hard facts to Ron Johnson and his political attacks dogs. The editorial board writes that Senator Ron Johnson has an "obligation" to call out false and misleading partisan attacks coming from his right-wing front group.

Senator Johnson's allies continue to lie and bully those who try to stand up to what the paper describes as "false", "untrue", and "unfair"  attacks.

Johnson's right-wing attack dogs continue their efforts to cover up for the senator's documented failures for Tomah Veterans. Even after their partisan attacks were debunked by media reports, Johnson's allies continue to parrot false talking points, and the senator has yet to denounce the attacks.

In today's editorial, the paper opines, "in the case of a recent attack that touches on particularly sensitive and concerning issues, and that clearly paints an untrue picture of Feingold, Johnson can and should make it clear he recognizes and rejects false statements regarding troubles at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tomah."

The editorial board's stinging criticism continues, "the Republican incumbent should step up and say the attack on his rival — by a group that the Wisconsin State Journal notes is headed by former GOP staffers — is wrong and unfair."

The paper concludes by pointing out Johnson has "a particular responsibility to made it clear that there was no failure to take action on the part of Russ Feingold — and that any suggestion that such a failure occurred is, as Lin Ellinghuysen explained, 'not truthful.'"

ron_johnsonMADISON - The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting Senator Ron Johnson missed 60% of the hearings held by the homeland security committee and the subcommittees to which he was assigned during his first four years in office.

"Chairman Johnson is the worst kind of hypocrite," said Kory Kozloski, executive director of the state Democratic Party. "He says national security is his most important issue. But until 2015, he barely showed up to work on critical committee hearings regarding our homeland security."

Johnson's early committee attendance record includes missing hearings on homegrown terror, terrorist travel, and three separate hearings on border security. The Senator even found raising campaign dollars more important than keeping Americans safe, managing to attend fundraisers on the same days he skipped homeland security hearings.

Johnson continues to beat the drum on national security now that it is a hot-button issue during an election year, but his own campaign confirms the senator only attended 83 hearings out of a total 207 from 2011 to 2014.

"If he really cared that much about keeping us safe," Kozloski said, "he'd have done his job when the voters weren't looking, not just when his job was at risk."

ron-johnsonMADISON - In an attempt to cover up for Ron Johnson’s documented failures for Tomah veterans, the senator’s allies continue to lie and bully those who try to stand up to their phony, politicized, and misleading attacks.

Shot: From last week’s reporting by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel...

Ellinghuysen told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that she made an error in marking the memo as being hand-delivered to the Democratic lawmakers. She said she made an assumption but that the deliveries did not occur.

Ellinghuysen said the print ad was "not truthful."

Chaser: From Dan Bice’s latest story detailing Johnson’s attempts to cover up his own failings…

"I feel used," [Ellinghuysen] said. "I feel used by Sen. Johnson."
