ilhan-omarIlhan Omar is a leader making waves by championing inclusive politics. She’s the first Somali-American elected to the United States Congress.

MADISON - RootsCamp begins this Friday. If you haven’t gotten your tickets, yet, we recommend you do it now. You’ll want to connect with the hundreds of leaders from across the country who’re joining us to reflect on everything we learned this year and to strategize for comes next.

2018 has been an unprecedented year in politics. The midterm elections showed us the energetic force of communities, especially communities at the margins, organizing and campaigning with an unapologetic vision of justice. We had women run for office at an all-time high, and we sent a record number of them to Congress. We made history on multiple fronts. That’s why we’re thrilled that our keynote speaker for RootsCamp 2018 is Congresswoman-elect Ilhan Omar (MN-05).

Rep.-elect Ilhan Omar is a leader making waves by championing inclusive politics. She’s the first Somali-American elected to the United States Congress, representing Minnesota's 5th congressional district. She is also one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress, alongside the incredible Representative-elect Rashida Tlaib (MI-13). There’s so much more we could share about her, but we’ll stop there. Join us at RootsCamp and hear more from her!

She’s one of our many plenary and panel speakers that reflect the vibrancy of our communities and the power of inclusive politics -- stay tuned to find out more.

Get your tickets for RootsCamp today. You won’t want to miss out on this. #Roots18

See you on Friday,
Deepa Kunapuli

P.S: Already have your tickets? Submit a session to present! Applications are now open for you to submit a session to present because at RootsCamp YOU set the agenda.
