MADISON WI – The Wisconsin Assembly Democratic Campaign Committee reported Tuesday raising more money in 2017 than in any previous off-years, as well as having twice as much cash-on-hand as at this point in the 2015 cycle. (And 2015 was a record-breaking cycle.)

“There is clear momentum for Democrats as we head deeper into the 2018 election cycle,” said ADCC Executive Director Doug Hyant. “All across the country, Democrats are showing up and standing up. It is running for local or state office, volunteering their time and donating funds. We are excited to see this wave of change growing even stronger in Wisconsin.

“That wave is reflected in our most recent report. We raised more in 2017 than we did in 2015, and have doubled cash on hand for the Committee from 2015 levels. This has allowed us to hire staff early and make early investments towards our goals for the 2018 cycle.

“While Republicans will report more money raised, we are proud to have more than 845 individual contributions to our Committee, with the average contribution made by new individuals below $65. Our support base isn’t out-of-state billionaires who are out of touch with what real hard-working individuals face on a daily basis. Our team worked hard this year to connect with folks across the state who want change and to feel their values are represented in the Assembly. We look forward to continuing those efforts in 2018.”

All 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly will be up for election on Nov. 6, 2018.
