russ-feingold-ron-johnson-debateMIDDLETON, WI - Senator Ron Johnson announced for the first time Friday that despite overwhelming support from Wisconsinites, he opposes paid family leave. Sen. MODERATOR:
...Should the U.S. join other developed countries in mandating paid family leave, and, if so, for what length of time?

SENATOR RON JOHNSON:...This would be another federal regulation that increased the cost for employers. It's one of the reasons that wages have stagnated....So, the question I'd ask all Wisconsinites, would you rather have that $12,000 or that $14,800 cost of complying with federal regulations--this would be one of them--feeding a massive, bloated government bureaucracy, or in your paycheck, feeding, providing for your family.
