MIDDLETON, WI - RFW communications director Michael Tyler issued the following statement after Sen. Johnson aired a new attack ad just hours after last night's tragedy in Nice, France:

"Only hours after the horrific attack in France, when we must pull together as a free society to defeat terrorism, Sen. Johnson sadly continues to mislead, divide, and scare. It’s shameful that Sen. Johnson is so desperate that he keeps resorting to fear mongering in the wake of tragedy and using his chairmanship of the Homeland Security Committee to launch partisan attacks, instead of offering real solutions to confront this terror.

"Sen. Johnson has failed to do his job for years and has no strategy other than to point fingers like a typical Washington politician. Russ is committed to combatting terrorism and is the only one with a specific plan to defeat extremists and keep America safe."
