rjMADISON - Sen. Johnson made so many missteps this week it was hard to choose just one. He continues to support his pal “The Donald,” despite the presumptive Republican nominee’s racist comments, and now he’s ducking reporters' questions rather than denouncing Trump. But rather than remind readers of Sen. Johnson’s love of all things “Trump,” we wanted to highlight his out-of-touch comments on immigrants.

Johnson has campaigned on the slogan of “walls work” when it comes to immigration. But in an interview with WCCO, in his home state of Minnesota this week, he went one step further, stereotyping millions of hardworking Americans. Referencing Trump’s plan to deport 11 million immigrants Johnson said, “Who is going to milk cows in Wisconsin? Who is going to pick vegetables in California, roof our homes, build our homes, clean our hotels?” Someone should remind the Senator that 40 percent of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children.
