scottwalkerMADISON - Yesterday, Governor Scott Walker finally joined the Party of Trump, saying he would support Donald Trump when he becomes the Republican’s presidential nominee. Although Scott Walker’s own presidential campaign fizzled quickly, he has worked tirelessly to remain relevant in the GOP contest, first endorsing Ted Cruz, and now throwing his support behind an eventual Trump nomination.

donald-trump“It’s not surprising that Scott Walker would line up behind Donald Trump, when you consider that so many of his of his policies do as well," Democratic Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Kory Kozloski said on Thursday. “After endorsing Ted Cruz and becoming the face of the #NeverTrump movement, Walker seems to be quickly abandoning his principles and kowtowing to his party’s frontrunner, Donald Trump.

Some have speculated that Walker’s recent actions are aimed at keeping his name in consideration for the Vice Presidency spot on the ticket. His actions today seem to indicate he will say anything, and support anyone to keep those ambitions alive. Walker’s potential support of Trump is even more galling when you consider the extreme Policies Trump has pushed for during his campaign - even going so far as to suggest that women who have abortions should be punished.

“Thankfully, Democrats have two excellent candidates in Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, both of whom have spent their campaigns talking about the issues that matter to voters,” concluded Kozloski. "Secretary Clinton and Senator Sanders are working to bring our country together, grow our economy, and build on the successes of President Obama."
