ron-johnsonRuss for Wisconsin launches Badger Pledge clock to keep track of Johnson's delaying.

MADISON - Two weeks after Russ Feingold proposed the Badger Pledge, a bipartisan proposal to prevent dark money from flooding Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race, Senator Ron Johnson has refused to give a yes or no answer on the straightforward agreement.

To hold Senator Johnson accountable, Russ for Wisconsin has launched the Badger Pledge clock to track the days, hours, minutes, and seconds it is taking Johnson to give a simple yes or no answer to the two-page agreement.

"It shouldn't take Senator Johnson two weeks to give a yes or no answer to a legitimate proposal to make the focus of Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race issues, not millions in dark money. It's shameful that since the Badger Pledge was proposed Senator Johnson has found time to rub elbows with a super PAC CEO and billionaires who fuel attack ads at a fundraiser, but not give a simple yes or no to this potential bipartisan agreement," said Tom Russell, Russ for Wisconsin campaign manager.

The Badger Pledge is a tried-and-true proposal modeled after the successful People's Pledge in Massachusetts. It requires Senator Johnson's signature to take effect. The agreement has drawn support from independent watchdog groups Public Citizen and Wisconsin Common Cause.
