seniorsGREEN BAY - Brown County Human Services Department is looking for "mature" volunteers to become Pals to the parents of children involved with Child Protective Services (CPS) in the Parent PALS Program. The volunteer helps by building rapport, connecting the parent to other community supports, developing skills such as budgeting, meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation, establishing family routine, and learning activities to empower the family to live and function in a safe and healthy manner.

The Parent PALS Program mentors provide long term support to parents that are open to making changes in their household and personal lives so they no longer need CPS services. Volunteers can choose their case and will see the assigned family two or more times per month in the home and in the community. Orientation, training, and case management services will be provided. Volunteers will also have support through volunteer group "share meetings" guided by the social worker. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Applicants must complete a written application and submit to a background check. For more information contact Glen Tilot at 920-448-6023 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
