Fostering Youth Independence (FYI)

We are looking for individuals with a desire to mentor youth in our community ages 15½ - 21 years old.  Mentors need to be a consistent, positive presence in the life of youth who have spent a portion of their life placed out of their parental home.  Interested volunteers must be willing to work with a youth for a minimum of 18 months to assist them with independent living skills.  Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and able to meet with the youth a minimum of 2 times a month.  Mentors provide long term guidance to youth in areas of: household management, budgeting, employment skills, secondary education, obtaining knowledge of community resources, and more.  Training, program sponsored activities, and on-going support will be provided.  Mileage reimbursement is provided to mentors who are able to transport youth.  For more information, please contact Nicole Ronk us at (920) 437-2272, ext. 105 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
